Winter & Epoxy

Feb 25th 2025

Home improvement projects are just for summer, right? Wrong!

Winter can be the best time to tackle those indoor projects, with zero VOC’s it’s safe to complete those projects indoors when the weather is cold.

Now, what happens when you order and the epoxy shows up frozen!?

No need to worry, the epoxy will still be usable. Place the frozen epoxy inside and let it come to temperature. Do NOT use a water bath to speed up the process. If the epoxy does not come to temp you may see more air bubbles in your epoxy when mixed.

Tip: Using a temp gun can ensure your epoxy is at 70 degrees when mixing.

Temperature is Important!

Another thing you’ll have to pay close attention to, is the temperature; not only the workspace but the surface of the project itself. Be aware of any cool spots near walls or windows. It's important to maintain a consistent temperature of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. This includes through the curing time. Colder temps can result in a softer and slower curing process.

TIP: For a fast project turn the heat up to 75-80 degrees after you pour to cure overnight!
